our response to covid-19
We came together to support our community.
The Executive and members of the association came together to donate veronica buckets, stools, hand sanitizers, hand soap and toilet paper as a kind gesture towards the school in Sierra Leone.
The aim was to raise awareness of the preventative measures that each student must take in line with any Covid-19 recommendations, which will help to effectively slow the spread of the virus.
The presentation of these items was broadcasted on AYV TV in Sierra Leone. This is significant for us in working together with the school in the fight against preventing Covid-19 and any future infectious diseases.
Over the years, the association has undertaken a number of fundraising activities. This includes but is not limited to annual subscriptions, annual thanksgiving services, luncheon sales and our first Africana extravaganza night. Proceeds from these have gone to the school to be used in a variety of ways including restoration of the roofing of the form two block, along with the refurbishment of two classrooms from the same block.
